Alex Ortiz, ACM President

Meet the guy who owns us without giving us any pay nor compensation *sarcasm*:
Name: Alex Ortiz
Position: ACM President
My Goal is to help push the potential of our students by providing them with an experience in computer science that is not met in class.
My Goal in life is work for a big company coding.  Then I plan to move on to marketing.  Probably dealing with international relations.

Here is a web page of his…

I know c++.  I’m getting better at Java.  I particularly enjoy coding in Flex.  I’ve gained great interest in the language this summer.  I also like coding in html and CSS.  I like verilog and robotics.
I am the 2009-2010 microsoft student partner at CSULB.  I also work in the lab as a tutor on fridays and possibly other days during the week.  These are all my first real jobs so I’m learning a lot as I go.

Another NOTE: Despite his dictating attitude towards his board members. He’s still a good guy to be with and he won’t treat any other members the same way as he treats the board (which is a darn good thing I may add).  When he was the past Secretary (or was it Treasurer?) the President last year left the club thus leaving ACM in turmoil. Alex, along with Roberto, worked to come up with ideas and plans to keep the club intact until Josh took over the President position.     His past experience with the past President (Josh, not the first President) and Vice President (Roberto), strong relationships with the Computer Engineering and Computer Science Professors and the Dean of College of Engineering, and his ability to get girls to come to the club (lucky dog :-P ) made him President for the 2009-2010 term.

The President is a spy!!!

Change of plans.  Instead of doing the introductions in order from president to who-knows.  I’m going to bring you the members of ACM in no particular order.

Now let’s meet the Webmaster:

////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

Name:  Matt Sguerri
Position:  Website co-administrator…?
ACM Goal:  To get a project working to a sufficient enough degree so as to use it in a portfolio.
Life Goal:  I have quite many goals in mind, but the dominant ones are, in no particular order:
1.  Supreme overlord
2.  Happiness
3.  Infinite supply of favorite food
4.  Commonwealth Citizenship
5.  Teacher
6.  Something to do with AI

I know C++, getting by in XNA (though my time has been rather limited of late), and I used to know a fair bit of PHP, JavaScript, etc.  However, since I haven’t touched those languages in a long time, and my memory sucks, I probably forgot them.

I work for Sam’s Club right now, although I’m not really sure what exactly I’m supposed to be doing since I’ve worked three different sections.  If they don’t transfer me after my probation period, I’ll probably tell them to go to hell and schmooze my way into IKEA.
It’s an amazing company to work for though, unless you’re a manager.

Hobbies of mine include walking my dogs, reading, video games, television, and sleep.

Meet the ACM Team (Team Fortress 2 FTW)

Hello boys and girls,

So the 2009-2010 ACM team has finally made contact with the website.   Allow us to introduce ourselves: I’m Richard and the other guy is Matt.  We’re the little guys that were dragged into this little position called Web developers and we’ll be looking after this website and updating it once in a while.

To start off this festivity, we’ll be introducing each member of ACM, starting with the guy that hired us (aka the President).
