On December 3rd (which is a Wednesday mind you), we’ll be having Tony Pompei as our guest speaker. Who’s Tony Pompei? He’s the IT Director of Kaiser Permanente.

-ACM/EAT End of the Year Party RSVP-
We need to know how many people are coming to the ACM/EAT end of the
semester party.

The end of the semester party will take place at Bob Ward’s house the
evening of Thursday December 10th. Bob needs to know how many people
are coming. There will be games, movies, music, and whatever else Bob
will allow us to do. Bob’s house is right off campus so transportation
should not be much of an issue.

-Your Experiences with the Engineering Open House, SOAR, and the RRC-
The Recruitment and Retention Center (the RRC) has experienced huge
cuts. If you haven’t already, please reply this e-mail about how the
Engineering Open House or Engineering SOAR (both run by the RRC) or
the RRC itself has helped you in your college career. We’ll forward
your e-mails to AESB to help make a case to bring back the Recruitment
and Retention Center.

Well next week is Thanksgiving therefore there won’t be any ACM meeting next week.

If you get an email that there is an ACM meeting next week, ignore it (even if it’s from the President himself).   You deserve a break so don’t let ACM get in the way of your unity and oneness during your vacation time.

Alright I’m not going to lie, we’re just going to talk about the history of ASUS as well as its products and innovations.  Nothing dark and nothing to be excited about….sorry.

Well there is one thing that might excite you.  We’re holding a drawing to give out one Project Gotham Racing 4 at the end of the meeting.  Also we have free food as always.

You still think that’s not good enough?  We’re also planning an end of semester party at Professor Ward’s house and if you’re interested in coming to this thing, please show up to the meeting.

Still not satisfied?  Well then forget you, I have better things to do than to make you happy you insolent jerk.  : -P

Since school is closed tomorrow, there won’t be an ACM meeting.  However if you’ve signed up for the Veterans Affair Software Development Project, please be advise that there will be a meeting on Friday at 2PM.  Meeting location is to be announced shortly.

Plus, if you haven’t done so already, please join the software development google group.  To join, email Bernandina at treasurer*at*csulb.acm.org .

Then it tells you it can’t proceed because something like a Security Protect Manager would interfere with Windows 7.  The reason this happens is due to errors with driver compatibility, and there are many complaints about it all over the internet.  If your fingerprint scanner is giving you trouble, your best bet would be to remove it, then install Windows 7.

If the installation completes successfully, and your fingerprint scanner mattered THAT much to you, you should be able to reinstall it on Windows 7.  Just make sure you still have the disk that came with your computer and you should be in the clear!

If you haven’t gotten your copy of Windows 7 yet and still want one, please contact Alex.  Please be advise that if you’re using Windows Vista Home Premium or less, you cannot directly upgrade to Windows 7 Professional (you’ll have to do a full installation which will delete all your stuff).

The VA hospital needs to have their psychology games to be remade in Java or C#. For those of you with CECS 174 or further completed, this will be the perfect chance to practical experience with the fundamentals of game programming.

Physical Therapy Project for the VA Hospital

Attention Computer Scientists and Computer Engineers: The VA hospital need to make hardware and software to measure patient’s balance. Let us know if you’re interested at this week’s meeting.

Just bring your pumpkin and have it hollowed out, once you are here then we can begin the Carving. Stencils are allowed, just bring a pumpkin carving kit. Or if you do not want to use a stencil cut out just design your own!!
